Without Destination

I lie awake in the night,
Staring at a sky washed with sunlight.
The volcanic ash and splintered glaciers surround;
Absolute opposites pulling me
Into an immense beauty
That could never be recreated with mere words.
But inspire me to never stop trying…

“Without Destination” is a short piece I wrote to accompany a collection of photos my friend Þorleifur Gunnar Gíslason had published online. Þorleifur had asked me to write something for the collection and I gladly accepted as I was already impressed with the beauty in the images. I thought it would be a unique challenge. I’m very proud to have words I wrote be part of such an amazing project. You can see the full project by clicking on the sample photo.
